I was trying to take a photo of Cinnaboo (aka Brewster...my daughters renamed him) but it didn't work out so well.  He's been making some real progress since we adopted him.  He goes out for a walk on a leash and has learned to 'do his business' outside (rather than in his crate).  He hasn't had any accidents since the first week -- he's a very clever boy and learns new things very quickly. Tonight was his longest walk yet as we continue to gently strengthen his leg muscles -- nearly 1 /2 mile!

He's been seen by the vet who removed his stitches.  He's eating well, twice a day but only when no one is around.  We're still working on getting him to come out of his crate to play, but it's going to take a little longer.  My daughters just love him -- he must go on walks at least 4 times a day.  They really surprised me in demonstrating that they were ready to take care of a wonderful smaller dog and Cinnaboo is just perfect for them.

Here's a link to a pic of him:

But I'll try to get a better picture.  He looks so cute now that he's been groomed for the summer and has a more 'classic' Pomeranian styling.

Thank you for checking in with us and introducing the dog formerly known as Brewster to our family.

Hello there!

Wanted you to see how well Peanut is doing in his new home. He has a great temperament, loves to be held and likes to eat!!!! He is less shy now and very inquisitive about everything. Thanks for taking such good care of him and all of the animals there at your shelter.

Hello,

Just over a year ago Chuck and I adopted Rudy. I've been meaning to send you an update to tell you that Rudy is a fantastic dog and leading a happy life. He weighs 80 lbs and measures 5' from nose to tail. Attached are pictures of Rudy with his first stuffed animal, Rudy at the beach, and Rudy lounging.

Thanks for saving Rudy. We love him.

Hi!

In January, my family adopted Meowi (now named Louigi) to fill a void from the death of another adopted cat, Louie. Meowi was renamed in memory of Louie. Louigi has been a source of much laughter and enjoyment in our family, and we are very please with him. Attached, is a picture of him. He has changed so much since when we first got him. Louigi was so small and skinny, but now he is rather on the heavy side and very content!

Thanks Friends of Michigan Animal Rescue and keep up the excellent work!

 Yours truly, Rose-Marie Gale

 Hello, Pete and Marcy:

Well, Hammy's first day with us has been in a word, uneventful.  He is a wonderful dog.  So sweet, smart and fun.  He has already attached himself to me (Carol), and it won't be long before he and Dave are best buddies.

We've been on car rides, for walks, into pet stores and Hammy has been a perfect gentleman the whole time.  How this great little guy didn't get adopted before this completely puzzles me, but I'm glad he didn't because now, he's our wonderful new family member.

Hammy and our elderly cat, Squeeky, are still working on cohabiting, but we're working on that, too.  Thank goodness for baby gates!

As soon as I have some, I'll send some pictures.  Thanks to you and your wonderful staff/volunteers for taking such good care of him.  I'm sure his sunny disposition is due in large part to all your efforts.

Stay tuned for more in the life of Hammy the Handsome.

Sincerely,
Carol Jordan

Hi Marcy,
I just wanted to give you an update on Raven (Black Beauty) since she's been in our lives for a few months now.  She's still the energetic little kitten that I first met back in January and is very playful and loveable.  I've attached a picture of she and Dexter (our existing cat when we adopted Raven).  They became instant friends and, no joking, they both are found every morning looking out the window.  I tell them that it's very romantic watching the sun rise everyday together, and that my husband and I should take lessons from them :)  Raven is also the expert bug hunter and is doing a great job keeping the unlucky summer insects at bay in our home.

Hope that this e-mail finds you well and that your rescue efforts are doing well.  Thank you so much for providing such an invaluable service, people like me, and Raven, very much appreciate it!

Take care,
Karen

Sugar is doing great. she was starting to cry hopelessly on the way home, but once I talked to her enough she became silent. When we let her out of her cage she did not hide. Within five minutes she had explored her new home and was being compassionate to us. She never hides, she plays, and she is eating regularly. Last night we had a few people over and Sugar was not even frightened by them. Sugar immediately took it upon herself to meet them individually and become their friend. She is doing quite exceptional. We will be sending pictures soon.

Pete,
Dog has turned out to be just GREAT. Couldn't be more pleased. She has so many of the qualities of the one that we lost after 14 years. Thanks again.
